OTO selected to work on design challenge Logistic Landscapes
What kind of new sustainable logistic landscapes can we imagine? And how will they perform? OTO will be working on this challenge and results will be presented at the Landscape Triennale this year. For this research by design we will team up with Buro Moon and C-A-S.
OTO starts working on waterhouderij
Can climate change be the inspiration for new typologies? OTO starts a feasability study to combine a waterhouderij and receational facility. We will investigate the potential of new combinations between land use and waterstorage above and underground.
Construction on Park Ter Walle has started!
Park Ter Walle is now under construction! This 4.4 hectare park, designed by OTO, is a citypark near the centre of Menen (BE). This contemporary hybrid between nature, culture and sportspark offers all kinds of activities for the residents, while offering habitat to birds and insects. Park Ter Walle is expected to be realized halfway 2020.
Climate adaptive Damsterplein
OTO is working on the transformation of Damsterplein. How can we transform this paved and underused urban heat island into a vibrant and climate adaptive space in the city of Groningen? This project is part of Let’s Gro, a yearly event in the city of Groningen about the (re)development of the city. Results expected in december 2019.

No Man is an Island
OTO developed a strategy for Hoorn80 together with Buro Moon, Metabolic and C-A-S.
This strategy called “No man is an Island” offers a new perspective for a sustainable industrial area using the energytransition as an incentive. A new collective network is proposed to exchange energy and resources between different companies, which at the same improves the overall spatial quality of this area.
Sensing Streetscapes
OTO will participate in a research program of Hogeschool van Amsterdam, which is called Sensing Streetscapes: co-researching emerging technologies for enhancing urban design. The research focuses mainly on the design of urban streetscapes in high density environments with a focus on the human scale.
